The rice rolls had a soft, silken texture, unlike the chewy, doughy quality in some dim sum places. They come stuffed, so they’re good for sharing (I tried the chicken, as well as the pork and shrimp for $6.96 and $7.95, respectively). The shredded pork and preserved egg congee was probably my favorite dish. Cash only.
good, perfectly chewy rice roll. we got the special peanut sauce one, which is combo of hoisin and peanut sauce. pricely for what it is though.
FRESHLY MADE — this place is GOOD. And it’s *CLEAN*. Pardon the poor images since I forgot to take them prior. The wait for food was a bit long, HOWEVER that’s a good sign that it’s not frozen food being reheated! The chang fen or rice rolls were very fresh. I got the fried tofu, beef, and shrimp with preserved egg and pork congee. Everything tasted VERY good by my Asian standards. They use actual beef in their rolls, not ground beef! Shrimp super tender and fresh as well, especially considering we went 30 mins prior to closing. They are confident in their taste as well: you’ll not find soy sauce and vinegar on the tables. But I do recommend sprinkling some salt and white pepper, then a few dabs of Sriracha, cutting the rolls with your spoon and doing spoonfuls in like manner. Even tastier this way imo. Great place, glad we went, 5 stars!
