Very hearty brunch portions that actually taste and look great! Sodas like black currant and elderflower were nice as well, really refreshing on a hot day. Gets a bit packed as the spots pretty small, so recommend reservations if you’re able. Bakery conveniently located next door with even more treats!
First visit for lunch: Tasty! Different. Well seasoned. Fresh produce. Done well. Second visit for brunch, as good as first time. Nice lemon zest punch on pancakes (on picture the whip cream melted (was a hot day)), potatoes are always good especially with the dill sauce, eggs done right, granola is rich and the “everything” salad was well done and generous. For brunch, reserve in advance, the place is small.
We made a reservation and visited Smor in the East Village for a Sunday brunch. Our absolute favorite was the avocado toast with sunny-side eggs, easily one of the best I’ve had in NYC. The bacon and egg sandwich came in as a close second, delicious and fresh. The salmon toast with dill was good, though I think it could be improved with a different choice of bread. Their pancakes resembled crepes but were quite tasty. An interesting quirk is that you can’t order lattes there; you have to head to their neighboring bake shop for coffee. Despite that, we’ll definitely be returning for another visit.
