I really had a good time at Nettie’s Restaurant. I had Catfish with grits and collard greens with cornbread and l thoroughly enjoyed myself. The owner is friendly and pleasant and works the room. A friend treated me to a Birthday Brunch and the owner played Happy Birthday for me – my friend also took a meal home for her mom. They have takeout service so you can just stop by to get a meal to take home. I will definitely stop over there again when I’m in the neighborhood…
Myself and husband visited this establishment Aug 2024 for our Anniversary, we continue to search for black owned businesses to support. Nettie’s failed by far!!!! The wait was not long for a table, it was raining this day and they seem to have a leak problem directly over dining table. We ordered appetizers and our meal at the same time as per the waitress. The wings were good, the catfish nuggets were also okay. Now time for the entree- husband ordered fried fish; Potato salad and peas/rice and I had stuffed salmon, string beans and Mac & cheese. The first fork I tried of the string beans turned me off immediately. I then tried the stuffed salmon- the crab meat stuffing smelled fishy- did not eat this and the Mac and cheese was not made well at all. My husband enjoyed his fish. So I think they can fry food well! The bigger problem for me was the owner. He was working the floor, greeting all tables and refused to come over to mine. My husband explained that my face may have said it all and this man had no plans on trying to rectify a bad situation ( no apologies offered). I did not need for him to provide anything free. We paid for our food and left, NEVER to return and will NEVER recommend to anyone. Poor customer service sir!!
I tried the fried chicken, potato salad, and mac and cheese. The chicken was very juicy and seasoned well. The Mac and cheese had to be up there with the best I’ve ever tried. I enjoyed the potato salad. This is a great hangout spot to come eat and relax. I definitely will recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Come on an empty stomach. Support this business
