Great little spot for the yardie vegan! Customer service was incredible, the stew peas & rice & pumpkin stew very was tasty & not overly salty & the taste of tropics smoothie was refreshing & smooth. And they have a parking lot!!, when you’re in Brooklyn that’s so important. Not only are they health conscious, but they are environmentally conscious and containers were biodegradable. I will be back!

Every time I am in Brooklyn USA I don’t leave the borough without stopping at my favorite Jamaican Vegan Restaurant. What is a Jamaican Vegan you might ask? As with all Caribbean Islands there are unique eats specific to the natural harvest in that region. Jamaica is known for its national dish called “ackee” which is technically a fruit since it has a seed but must be cooked before eating. Traditionally it is served with saltfish and boiled green banana, fried sweet plantains or breadfruit for breakfast. Well Verdure puts their own spin on it with mixed vegetables instead of the saltfish and you don’t miss a thing! Deelish. They have a fabulous okra stew, warm porridge and fried dumplings. I’ve also had their vegan fritters (which run out fast) so get there early. I love their pumpkin soup with carrots and okra, curry chick peas, rice and peas or some ital red peas stew with veggies and ofcourse fried sweet plantains for the authentic Jamaican experience. The variety is impressive! Never oily or salty with the perfect blend of traditional Caribbean seasoning in every bite. They have a host of natural drinks made fresh daily, along with herbal teas and amazing muffins. Their vegan carrot cake is a must grab before you head out the door. They even offer “no salt” added options for select items like their curry chick peas. Sweet!!! It’s a la carte so you buy per serving which I love because it allows you to create amazing combination platters, depending on your taste buds that day. You can seat yourself and stay as long as you like or take it to go. As they say in Jamaica, “no worries.” *HIGH FIVE! Their take out containers are 100% Bamboo, 100% compostable with no trees harmed in the making of these containers and the bio-lining of the containers are made from plants. Thank you Verdure for making this commitment to our planet and your customers. It does not go unnoticed! As a fellow Jamaican I am proud to frequent this hidden gem every chance I get. The service is always outstanding and ample street parking which is a miracle in this part of Canarsie Brooklyn. Cheers to continued good eats!!

I touched down in New York on Thursday and came straight to Verdure from the airport. Miss the food immensely. Since leaving, I haven’t found any vegan options as tasty and conveniently located near me. There’s nothing like coming back home to the food you know and love ❤️. Just about everything on the menu is a hit! I miss getting breakfast every Thursday morning. If I were staying in Brooklyn, I would have gone back for more food. Best believe, EVERYTIME I’m in Brooklyn, I’m coming through!!!
